Emergency planning

Following the tragic death of two workmen in the village and a house fire, various village organisations are working together to put together a simple procedure for dealing with any potential emergencies.

This initiative has been led by Val Swallow (Member of the WI) with support from Carol Garrett (Parish Council Chairman) and Karen Osborn (Parish Council Vice Chairman).

So far, we have carried out a risk assessment to identify potential emergencies and we have consulted with neighbouring communities, who already have plans in place, and with Suffolk's emergency planning committee.

In due course, we will produce a draft plan for village organisations to consider and, hopefully, approve.

More details will follow as work progresses.  For more information, contact any of the people identified above.
