Astonishing stories of the misery and misfortune that befell Suffolk's poor. It makes for uncomfortable reading when you consider how "safe" we live today.

The hand-written memories of his childhood and youth living in Worlingworth in the 1930s, condensed into booklet form. His father was Samuel Catling, the saddler and harness maker, who had his business near the church. A fascinating and amusing read.
