Every six years we have to have a completely new Electoral Roll. This means that everyone who wishes to remain on the roll or any new people who would like to be included, have to complete a new form. Compiling the new roll will begin from the middle of February and must be completed two weeks before the Annual Parochial Church Meeting in April. Forms will be in the church from mid-February or from Shirely Rutterford. Tel: 01728 628710 .
If any person wishes their name to be removed from the roll will they please let Shirely Rutterford know.
Our Annual Parochial Church Meeting is earlier than anticipated on the 2nd of April. Could I have completed forms by the 19th of March please, so the new roll can
be displayed for two weeks before our meeting. Again, if anyone would like their name removed from the roll please let me know as soon as possible.
Thank you, Shirley Rutterford. 01728 628710
St. Mary's Lent Lunch this year will be on the 16th of March in the Community Centre. This is meant to be a frugal meal of soup, rolls, cheese and biscuits. There is no charge but donations are welcome. The proceeds are divided equally between St. Mary's Church and SARS. Do come and share with us, everyone is welcome.
On the 19th January a good band of willing helpers held a coffee morning to empty the 40+ boxes we have around the village. Michael Izzard from EACH helped to bag up the money and bank it. A total of £1476.72 was counted— an increase of approx £200.00. Thanks to all those good friends who came to help with the counting and serving the coffee . Jill Westrup
Appeal for helpers to keep St Mary's clean.
To keep St. Mary's as fresh as we can the cleaning is done every two weeks, but we only have a team of five people. If anyone else would be prepared to help us we shall be most grateful .Our volunteers at the moment are John Ridgwell, Beryl Dyer, Shirley Rutterford, Val Swallow, with Christine Stanford and Nora Ingate. If you feel you are able to help, you can contact any of us and we willbe happy to show you what is involved.
Led by Rev. David Burrell and in bright sunshine, St. Mary's held a rogation service. Fields, meadows and gardens were blessed with appropriate readings by members of the congregation. On our way back to the church a short act of remembrance for V.E. Day took place at the War Memorial.
It was a really enjoyable service, which finished back in the church.
Thanks to Bert for planning it.
Do you wish to have someone visit you in your home on a regular basis, if so and you would like to discuss your requirements in confidence, please contact a church warden or Lay elder telephone numbers in newsletter.
RECIPES FOR RESTORATION
This book has now been published and delivered to those people who ordered it in advance. The profits from the sale of these books are going to the Restoration Fund, if you would like one please phone Pat Kench on 01728 628242 or Shirley on 01728 628710.
Started by Lynne Searle some time ago, and it contains recipes from Bishops, Lord Mayors, well-known T.V. personalities and many others.
Thanks to Anne-Marie Kennedy for getting more recipes for this and for collating it for us. We are grateful for her help with typing it all up and getting it ready for printing.
