There have been reports today of people going about the village knocking on doors to try and sell items.  Be very aware of the dangers.

Do not feel pressurised into buying items on your doorstep, use a chain or speak through the door if you do not know the caller and remember you can always refuse to open the door, or shut it at any time - you are under no obligation to give a reason.

Genuine door-to-door salespeople will have a licence and accept 'no' for an answer, if they are refusing to show you a licence, or refusing to leave, then close the door firmly and if necessary call the police for advice on 101.

Sometimes these gangs work by distracting people at the front door, whilst accessing the property through a back door, so don't attend the front door without ensuring your back door is locked.

Stay safe!
